Empowering Students Through the Joy of Music and the Arts

ABRSM Curriculum

Our faculty is now able to offer ABRSM curriculum as an option for our music lessons!

Established in 1889, the ABRSM (Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music) is an examination and curriculum which provides a structured framework for progression from beginner to advanced musicians. An ABRSM exam includes performing pre-selected pieces, scales and arpeggios, sight reading, and aural skills which demonstrate the ability to listen and analyze music and rhythm. More than 600,000 students take the ABSM music exams every year, representing over 93 countries.

FAQ

What are the benefits of pursuing ABRSM?

As a music student, the ABRSM provides a concrete measure of progress, and an objective understanding of your abilities. Likewise, the ABRSM provides parents an opportunity to measure their child’s musical attainment, and to gauge their potential. In all, the ABRSM is a great way for students to demonstrate and measure their ability, and provides a tangible measure to work towards.

How is the ABRSM structured?

The ABRSM is structured through nine grades (initial grade through grade eight). Each level offers students selected pieces to prepare, and students progress through the levels on their own time.

How can I begin the ABRSM curriculum?

For more information on the ABRSM curriculum, or beginning the curriculum in music lessons, please contact your area manager.
