Heather began studying clarinet when she was eight, piano at thirteen, violin at fourteen, and organ when she was in college. Her passion for music led her to join the co-ed music fraternity Kappa Kappa Psi while at The University of Tampa. While there, she performed multiple recitals and concerts with the bands, orchestras, and colleagues. She was awarded the “Marvin Hamlisch Scholarship Fund within the Community Foundation of Tampa Bay” award, the “Sant’Yago Education Foundation Scholarship,” the “Terry Mohn Senior Instrumentalist Award,” and the “AEA Scholarship” for striving for the highest in everything she set her mind to achieve.
While in law school, Heather performed on the clarinet and violin at The Moody Church, violin with the Chicago Bar Association Symphony Orchestra (CBASO), and clarinet for a summer event with the Chicago Philharmonic. After moving back to New York, Heather taught children and adults the basics of piano instruction for a period of time. In addition, she has performed on the violin with the Brooklyn Symphony Orchestra (BSO) as well as the handbells and chimes with Calvary Baptist Church. She continues her passion for music by encouraging individuals of all ages to get involved in the arts and study the field.
