OXANA MIKHAILOFF

Born in Vladimir, Russia into a family of professional musicians, Oxana Mikhailoff had already won an international Young Artists Competition in Czechoslovakia by the age of eight. After studies with her mother, which began at age five, Ms. Mikhailoff attended the Central Music School for Gifted Children in Moscow where she studied with Anaida Sumbatian (teacher of Vladimir Ashkenazy and Oxana Yablonskaya) and Vera Gornostaeva. She holds a B.A. from the Moscow Conservatory, where she studied under Professor Vladimir Krainyev, and an M.M. from the Manhattan School of Music, which recognized her talent with the prestigious Harold Bauer Award. She studied there with Professor Phillip Kawin. She also studied privately with Maestro Vladimir Feltsman.

Ms. Mikhailoff was awarded prizes at the 2002 Concert Artists Guild International Competition, the Cincinnati World Piano Competition, the Missouri International Piano Competition, the Yakov Flier International Piano Competition, the First International Rachmaninoff Competition in Moscow, the ARD Munich Competition in Germany, and the International Prokofiev Competition in Russia. She was also awarded the honor of participating in the 2001 Van Cliburn competition. Recognized by Martha Argerich as an extraordinary talent, Oxana won the Second Prize at the Martha Argerich International Piano Competition in August 2003 and performed in the Martha Argerich festival in the world famous Teatro Colón de Buenos Aires and throughout Argentina with Ms. Argerich.

Ms. Mikailoff’s performances include her United States debut at Carnegie Hall in 1999, where she later returned to play an all-Chopin recital on the 150th anniversary of the composer’s death; Rachmaninoff’s Second Piano Concerto in world-renowned Teatro Colon of Buenos Aires; three seasons with the Greenwich Symphony under Maestro David Gilbert, which received the highest critical acclaim; and Chopin’s E Minor Concerto under Maestro Feltsman.

In 2015, Ms. Mikhailoff performed New York premieres of works by Vladimir Drozdoff. In January of 2016, LPClassics Record Label released Oxana’s CD titled “Russian Fairytales”. In 2017 LPClassics released an all-Rachmaninoff CD recorded at Yamaha Artists Services, Inc. in New York City.

Oxana Mikhailoff’s vast repertoire extends from Baroque to modern day composers and includes solo works, chamber music and 29 piano concertos. She also maintains an active teaching schedule in Westchester County, New York.

In partnership with Vassily Primakov, Oxana Mikhailoff runs two Professional concert Series, one in Bronxville and another in Sparkill NY.
