CHRIS PEEBLES
Piano
I am a dedicated musician with eight years of professional work in the music industry. My background includes performing live with bands, touring nationally, and improvising in a variety of styles. I have eight years of professional arranging and composing experience for orchestras, big bands, studio recordings, small ensembles, and have also orchestrated for the Broadway production A Wonderful World : The Louis Armstrong Musical. I have taught privately for seven years on piano, saxophone, flute, and clarinet, and I also serve as an educator and content creator for the online education platform The Saxophone Academy.
My teaching philosophy is rooted in creativity, curiosity, and student-centered learning. Lessons are tailored to each student’s goals, and we explore a variety of musical styles while keeping the process engaging and enjoyable. I use an aural approach alongside music reading to build a well-rounded skill set. Improvisation and composition are a regular part of lessons, encouraging students to express themselves musically while developing solid technical foundations. Each session includes work on technique, ear training, sight-reading, and music theory, ensuring students grow both as musicians and as creative thinkers.
