Empowering Students Through the Joy of Music and the Arts

Hansel González was born in Havana, Cuba. He’s a guitar instructor, producer, and singer songwriter. He earned his degree in classical guitar in 2009 and not long after started teaching and performing with many great artists including Osdalgia, Lucia Huergo, Extraño Corazon, Karamba and Mayco de Alma. Hansel’s first solo project emerged in 2011 under the name of Elephant Kill Lion. During that time he launched two EPs along with several music videos. He’s produced, performed, and arranged music for many talented Ecuadorian artists such as Lu Miranda, Viviana Cardenas, Jose Valbuena and Marcelo Abril. Hans moved to Bushwick six years ago and its emerging culture and talented musicians permeated his style unmistakably. Speakeasy streets and Mimi oz are just a few examples. From blues to funk, he’s been developing specific techniques and sounds that will help students thrive creatively in different situations, including recording sessions and live performances.
