HSIN-YU CHEN

Piano

Hsin-Yu Chen is an accomplished pianist and a passionate educator based in NYC. In  2022, he received his Masters of Music degree in Piano Performance from Boston  University. Born in Taiwan, Hsin-Yu actively participated in regional music competitions  and was named the second prize in Yunlin County Music Competition. In 2019, Hsin-Yu  was awarded a merit scholarship by Boston University. With his solid learning in the  studio of Prof. Pavel Nessessian, Hsin-Yu established himself as a young pianist in NYC,  he developed his career in solo performance, chamber music, and piano collaboration.  Currently, Hsin-Yu is a candidate of the Piano Performance Diploma at Manhattan  School of Music under the guidance of Prof. Wael Farouk.  

As an active and passionate educator, Hsin-Yu works with students of all ages and levels.  His teaching philosophy is to help students set up a solid musical foundation and develop  their potential and interest in music – which enables them to fully enjoy the music. Hsin Yu is a piano instructor at Anselmo Academy of Music & the Arts and NY String  Academy in NYC. During the period in Boston, he was a piano teacher at Brimmer and  May School and Boston Music Project. Also, he was a piano collaborator at Boston Latin  School and the Cambridge Chinese Choral Society.
