Empowering Students Through the Joy of Music and the Arts

A graduate of the Mannes School of Music, pianist Jacob Kelly Levitan is beginning an auspicious career as a performer and educator. After winning 3rd Prize at the 2022 International Chopin Competition in Hartford, CT, Jacob has performed in solo, chamber, and orchestral settings at some of New York’s leading venues, including Carnegie Weill Hall, Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center, and Steinway Hall. While still at Mannes, his recording of Frédéric Chopin’s Bolero aired on the radio as part of WQXR’s Young Artists Showcase. Upon graduating, he received a number of departmental awards, including the coveted Felix Salzer Techniques of Music Award, for his dedication to tutoring other students in musical topics. As a teacher, he cultivates a variety of musical skills, including listening and improvisatory skills, and instills a thorough understanding of the biomechanics of piano playing. Jacob has studied with Pola Baytelman, Yuri Kim, and fortepianist Audrey Axinn.
