Sophia Fulton is an 8th-grade student at the Manhasset Secondary School, New York, and is currently studying with Steinway pianist Golda Vainberg-Tatz in Manhattan School of Music’s Precollege Division. She began her piano studies at the age of 4. In 2022, she became a student of the MSM Precollege, where she has been a scholarship winner and on Dean’s List since 2022.

Sophia has performed in many concert halls, including Carnegie Hall, Merkin Hall at the Kaufman Center, Baruch Performing Arts Center, Symphony Space Thalia Theater, Steinway Hall in New York, and Steinway Society of Puerto Rico. She performed at 2023 Puerto Rico International Music Festival as the youngest student on the festival.

Sophia is the recipient of many awards, including Vera Wills Award in the 2024 Piano Teachers Congress of New York (PTCNY) Honors Program (Group III); First Place in Musical Life Competition 2024, the American Protégé International Piano & Strings Competition 2024 (Junior Category, Ages 11 to 14), and the 2024 Anselmo VI International Music Competition (Piano Junior Musician Category, Ages 11-15); Second Prize in International Grande Music Competition (IGMC) (Category C, Ages 13-15); Piano Platinum Medalist in the 2023-24 Canadian International Music Competition (Young Artist category, Ages 12-19); Grand Prix Winner of 2023 Concert Festival International Competitions; Super Bronze in 2020 Golden Key International Music Festival; and second Prize in 2018 Crescendo International Music Competition.

Juliet was born into a musical family. Her dad is the solo English Horn of the Metropolitan Opera, and her mom is an avid amateur violinist. Juliet has been immersed in music making since birth and was given the opportunity to begin cello studies at age 3 at the School for Strings. Her serious interest in playing the cello took root in seventh grade and her progress has been exponential these past two years. She’s participated in master classes in Puerto Rico and New York with cellists such as Hans Jørgen Jensen & Natasha Brofsky. She is currently a Manhattan School of Music pre-college student and has spent the last three summers at music camps including Kinhaven and Interlochen.
Juliet is a winner of multiple music  competitions.

My name is Li Yuqing. I am 15 years old. I am currently studying violin with Professor Lucie Robert in the Pre-College of the Manhattan School of Music.

I am an international student from China. I started taking violin lessons when I was four years old.

In 2019, I won first place in the preliminaries of the Hong Kong International Violin Competition and entered the finals. Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, offline competitions were canceled.

In 2020, I won the Singapore International Violin Online Competition Award.

In 2022, I received a full scholarship to attend the preparatory program at Manhattan School of Music.

In April 2023, I will perform Edouard Lalo Symphonies espagnole,Op.21 1.Allegro non troppo as a soloist with the Greenwich Symphony Orchestra.  In October, I won an honorable mention in the Manhattan School of Music Preparatory Philharmonic Concerto Competition and participated in auditions From The Top. In November, I won the NYIMF Competition Concours Division Winner.

In February 2024, I won the second prize in the senior category of the Anselmo VI International Music Competition. In April, I won first prize in the Solo Music category of the 2024 New York Laurel International Music Competition, 13-15 years old.  I was also nominated as a grand prize winner. I also performed as a featured artist in pianist Matei Varga's recital and performed for a community choir fundraiser

I also received a full scholarship to the Manhattan School of Music for preparatory studies in 2023-2024 and got A  in quartet, quintet and duet in Prep Symphony Orchestra and Chamber Music.

While taking classes at MSM, I also studied at the New York Professional Children's School, and also won the highest scholarship the school gives to international students.

In my spare time, I am also keen on writing novels and have accumulated stories of different themes.  I hope to be able to share it with my friends the same way I share my music in the future.
