Rachel Klem is a lower school administrator at a K-8 independent school in New York City. She has worked in the field of education since graduating college with a Bachelors in Music Education, teaching vocal, instrumental, and general music in elementary and middle schools in Nevada, New Jersey, and New York. Her dedication to music and joy in working with young musicians was a gift from her father, a talented pianist and singer, who performed in showrooms on the Las Vegas strip in the ‘70s and ‘80s.
Rachel made the leap into administration after completing a masters degree in school leadership at Teachers College Columbia University. In a pandemic school year, Rachel and her fellow administrators have focused on providing family engagements that center on emerging needs. Among them, highlighting math and literacy, and developing a series on technology, digital citizenry and internet safety.
Rachel continues to pursue music in her spare time, playing piano and singing at her home in New Jersey.
