Eligibility
Music students ages 4-21
Age Categories
Young Musicians Category, 4 – 10 years old
Junior Category, 11 – 14 years old
Senior Category, 15 – 21 years old
Application Deadline
The materials and application fee must be submitted by January 15, 2023
Application Fee – $50 per applicant, due by January 15, 2023
Application Fees are not refundable.
Repertoire Requirements
One selection of any music repertoire of your choice performed from memory. The duration of the video recording may be up to 10 minutes. Shorter pieces will be accepted. DRESS CODE is performance clothing. All Piano students need to record on an acoustic piano, NOT a keyboard.
We reserve the right to publicize
1) materials submitted to the competition such as audio or video recordings.
2) names of participants, pictures, videos from Live Round auditions
How to Apply
To apply for the Competition, participants must submit the following information by clicking “Apply now”:
- A completed online Application Form
- YouTube link to the video recording
- Application fee
Competition Rules
- Only unedited video can be accepted for the audition (parts of video connected together or video clips are not acceptable)
- Video recording should be a fair representation of the participant’s abilities but does not need to be of professional quality. The applicant’s name and exact title of the recording must be included in the description of the video on YouTube
- Judges’ comments will not be disclosed. Judges’ decisions are final and can’t be appealed
- The final selection of contestants invited to the LIVE ROUND will be based solely on the video recordings submitted
- Contestants may choose to perform a different piece at a LIVE ROUND
- Several winners may be selected in each category
- Grand Prize can be awarded for an outstanding performance
- Selected Contestants by the PRELIMINARY JURY will be invited to perform at the LIVE ROUND
- OPTION 1: In Person: on February 12th, 2023 at the Tenri Institute ($100 Audition Fee)
- OPTION 2: on ZOOM: Scheduled for February 19-20th, 2023 ($75 Audition Fee)
- Winner’s Recital: LIVE in person at Symphony Space, or LIVE on Zoom ($100 Performance Fee) – Competition winners are required to perform in the Winner’s Recital
There will be TWO SETS of winners: for in PERSON and for ZOOM Live Rounds
Awards and Performance
Participants will be awarded certificates, cash awards, and performance opportunities.
Young Musicians Category, 4 – 10 years old
First Place: $250, Second Place: $150, Third Place $75
Honorable Mention Certificate for Participation to all contestants
Junior Category, 11 – 14 years old
First Place: $300, Second Place: $200, Third Place $100
Honorable Mention Certificate for Participation to all contestants
Senior, 15 – 21 years old
First Place: $500, Second Place: $400, Third Place $300
Honorable Mention Certificate for Participation to all contestants

The Anselmo Academy will also invite prize winners in special online features and broadcasts.
