WHO WE ARE
Please join us in celebrating our 22nd year as a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization!
The Anselmo Academy of Music and the Arts (formerly the Piano School of NYC) was founded in 2001 by Vera Anselmo who believes that students are empowered through the joy of music and art education. Today, the thriving school continues to educate students in the fundamental belief that music is an essential way to connect with others. Rooted in New York City, the school continues to build confidence in students to achieve their potential.
The Anselmo Academy of Music and the Arts offers a wide curriculum including instruction in multiple instruments including piano, violin, guitar, voice, musical theater, and theater/acting. Our highly trained teachers specialize in multiple genres from classical to jazz and rock and pop. Classes for children (babies to 17), adults and students with special needs include private and small group lessons. Many recitals and competitions are also offered. Most of the students pay their own tuition which enables the school to offer scholarships for students who do not have the financial means. We are committed to educating and empowering every child and adult regardless of talent or ability to pay.
Our teachers are passionate and highly-trained musicians based in the New York metropolitan area who inspire, build confidence, and shape the intellect of children and adults by providing such opportunities as:
- In-person one-to-one classes
- Online classes
- After school enrichment musical and arts programs
- Art related classes from affiliates non-profit institutions
- Music appreciation classes for students with disabilities
- Music scholarships to children from low-income families
- Benefit concerts in New York to support the causes that we believe in
“We are committed to educate every child and adult who wants to learn regardless of talent or ability to pay.”
