YOKO NAKAHASHI

Known as her Buddhist name Laiyo, Yoko Nakahashi is a modern composer. Her first free-atonal classical composition “Hurricana” was well received from various audiences, and it lead to receive the award from ASCAP at Lincoln Center, received from Pulitzer prize winner David Del Tredici. Before she started modern classical composition, Laiyo has been writing music for theatre and martial arts company Spinnin’Ronin, and creating sound effects for various theater groups.

Ms. Yoko Takahashi has earned B.A. from City College of New York and M.M. from New York University.

Ms. Yoko Takahashi has joined the faculty of The Piano School in 2015.
