CARSON YOUNG
Piano, Composition
Born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee, Carson Young first began his musical journey at the Nashville School of the Arts. He was the bandleader and pianist for various musical engagements, both privately and through Nashville School of the Arts Jazz Band and Swing Band from 2012 to 2015. Some performances were located at Opryland Hotel, BMI Headquarters, The Grand Ole Opry House, Franklin Street Festival, Berry Hill Street Festival, and the Sheraton Hotel. While at NSA, he also received the Jazz Performance Award, and was selected by audition to attend Grammy Camp Nashville.
Carson then moved to Knoxville, Tennessee where he studied with former Jazz Messenger Donald Brown in the Studio Music and Jazz Department at the University of Tennessee. He was the pianist for private events such as the Natalie Haslam Awards Gala, the School of Music Gala, and various events at the Villa Collina and Cherokee Country Club. During this time, he was also one of the house pianists for multiple summers at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island, Michigan.
After moving to NYC in the fall of 2019, he obtained a Masters of Music from the City College of New York, continues to do freelance engagements throughout the city, and is releasing his debut record in the fall of 2022.
