EMILY STEELE

Musical Theater

Emily Steele is a New Jersey based performer and student. She has been performing for over 20 years, and has been trained in multiple styles of dance. She competed with the Synergy Dance Company at Progressive Dance Studio and has won many awards and scholarships. In 2022, Emily received her Associates Degree in Musical Theatre from County College of Morris, and transferred to Rutgers University to complete her Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism and Media Studies. 

Upon her transfer to Rutgers, Emily ventured out from performing to having her debut as Assistant Choreographer (Hunchback of Notre Dame), Choreographer (A New Brain), Director (Clue), as well as performing in the pit orchestra of many shows. In addition to taking part in theatrical productions, Emily is a member of the Rutgers Voorhees Choir. She has also recently begun working as a freelance Cellist. 

Stage credits include: Auntie Em in Oz, Purity in Anything Goes, Bird Girl in Seussical, Mama Murphy Understudy/Ensemble in Bright Star, Ensemble in The Laramie Project, and more. 

She recently taught Music at Lakeview Day Camp in East Brunswick, also serving as their Music Director for their summer productions. 

Emily is extremely passionate when it comes to the Performing Arts. She hopes to spark a love of theater in the next generation of performers.
