
EMMA LARSSON
Piano, Voice
Born in Sweden, Emma Larsson started learning piano at the age of 8, and it was love at first sight! From an early age, she knew that music would play a central role in her life. At fourteen, she added saxophone to her studies and performed with wind orchestras and big bands, while piano remained her primary instrument. After high school, Ms. Larsson moved to Ostrava, Czech Republic, where she pursued classical piano studies at the Janáček Conservatory.
Ms. Larsson has recorded and performed with numerous renowned artists across multiple countries and is currently based in New York City as a jazz singer and composer. She holds a Master of Education in Music from Luleå University in Sweden and a Master of Music in Jazz Studies from the prestigious Sibelius Academy in Finland.
Her teaching experience includes positions at the Music Conservatory of Oulu and the University of Applied Sciences in Joensuu, Finland, where she also trained future vocal educators. Ms. Larsson’s teaching and performing career has taken her around the world, including Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Germany, and South Africa. She can now be heard performing at many of New York City’s premier jazz venues, including Miles’ Café, Iridium, The Bar Next Door, Cleopatra’s Needle, Smalls Jazz Club, and Zinc Bar.
Ms. Emma Larsson has been a member of the faculty at Anselmo Academy (formerly The Piano School of NYC) since 2011.
