Empowering Students Through the Joy of Music and the Arts

JOHN CHOI

John is a research scientist at Meta, where he focuses on next-generation wearable technologies at the intersection of neuroscience, engineering, and human-computer interaction. He holds a Ph.D. From SUNY Downstate in Biomedical Engineering, with a research background in optimal control and its applications to advanced neural prosthetics.

Prior to joining Meta, John completed a postdoctoral fellowship at New York University, where he led research on motor control in primates and developed machine learning algorithms for neural data analysis. His work has contributed to over 30 scientific publications across neuroscience, biomedical engineering, and artificial intelligence.

John’s lifelong passion for music—shaped by years of playing piano, trumpet, DJing, and producing—continues to inspire his approach to creativity and innovation in both science and technology.
