NICOLETTA TODESCO
Guitar
Nicoletta Todesco is an Italian guitarist and passionate traveler. She is currently based in New York and she is teacher and production manager for Classical Guitar Corner Academy.
In 2019 she obtained her Master of Musical Arts at the Yale School of Music under guidance of professor Benjamin Verdery, being awarded with the Eliot Fisk Prize recognized to an outstanding guitarist whose artistic achievement and dedication have contributed greatly to the department. During her years at Yale she also worked as a Teaching Artist and Teaching Assistant and she had her Carnegie Hall debut together with the guitar studio.
Previously to her Yale studies and achievements, Nicoletta graduated with honors at the F.A.Bonporti Conservatory of Trento and concluded a Master’s Degree in guitar performance at G.B. Martini Conservatory of Bologna, under the supervision of guitarists Norma Lutzemberger and Walter Zanetti respectively. Since 2014, she holds a Master’s in Musicology issued by the University of Bologna.
Nicoletta plays both classical and electric guitar, with a strong interest in contemporary music that brought her to perform in important festivals in Italy, Mexico, and the USA. She has been particularly active in chamber music ensembles and enjoys working together with composers who give her the opportunity to experiment with New Music and premiere new pieces. Her performances often include pieces for voice and guitar, as well as her original compositions and arrangements.
Since her early career, Nicoletta is committed to music pedagogy and taught guitar and music theory in several public and private institutions. In 2015 she spent a year in Aguascalientes (Mexico) promoting music education among children and young adults.
Nicoletta is eager and thrilled to join the Anselmo Academy as an administrator and therefore help many students get access to many educational classes this upcoming year.
