Caitlyn Krueger is a versatile and expressive flutist, woodwind instructor, and music educator, known for her musical sensitivity and commitment to fostering joyful, well-rounded learning experiences. With a strong foundation in both performance and pedagogy, Caitlyn is passionate about making music education accessible, identity-affirming, and rooted in artistic excellence.
Originally from West Hartford, Connecticut, Caitlyn began playing the flute in fourth grade, inspired by live performances she attended with the Hartford Symphony Orchestra. Her early love of music quickly evolved into a deep commitment to the arts, as she immersed herself in a wide range of woodwind, orchestral, and choral ensembles throughout her youth.
An experienced soloist and ensemble performer, Caitlyn has performed across Central New York with groups such as the Skaneateles Community Band, the Oswego City Band, the Camillus Community Band, and most recently, the Riverside Orchestra. She has also been active in musical theatre, performing with companies like CNY Playhouse and supporting various school productions. Her performance interests span a wide range of styles, from Baroque repertoire to Brazilian music and contemporary works, with a particular interest in compositions by female composers. Previously, Caitlyn worked as a music teacher in upstate New York, where she taught elementary general music and served as the woodwind instructor for the Oswego High School Marching Band; these roles allowed her to combine her passion for education and performance while supporting the musical growth of students across multiple levels.
Caitlyn holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education, with a certificate in Flute Performance from Syracuse University, where she studied under Dana DiGennaro and Claire Gentilehomme (Université de Strasbourg). Prior to her undergraduate studies, she trained under Barbara Hopkins at the Hartt Community Division.
Currently, Caitlyn is pursuing a Master’s degree in International Education Development through Teachers College, with a concentration in arts education as a tool for conflict resolution. She is dedicated to building inclusive, sustainable learning environments where all students can thrive through the arts. As both a performer and educator, Caitlyn continues to explore evolving flute repertoire and remains committed to expanding representation in music through advocacy and thoughtful programming.
